šŸ The Shift Into Fall: From Summer Chaos to School Day Routines

There’s something about this time of year that feels like a deep breath after holding it in all summer long. Don’t get me wrong—summer has its magic. Late nights, sticky popsicle fingers, family tripsšŸŽ£, and letting routines slide a little too far (because hey, it’s summer!). But once those first school bells ring, we’re suddenly thrown back into early alarmsā°, packing lunches, signing permission slips, and the never-ending battle of ā€œDid you brush your teeth🪄 yet?ā€

As a mom, I always feel like this transition is one of the hardest but also the most rewarding. The house gets a little quieter during the day, but the evenings get a little louder as everyone spills out their stories over dinner. We’re adjusting right alongside our kids—finding our rhythm again after a season of freedom.

And just as we start to get into the swing of things, the air shifts too. šŸŒ¬ļøThe mornings feel cooler, the afternoons a little softer. It’s almost like nature is reminding us to slow down, to prepare for the cozy months ahead. Soon enough the leaves will crunch under our feet, and the smell of šŸŽƒpumpkin spice, cinnamon, and šŸŽapple crisp will drift through kitchens everywhere.

I think that’s what I love most about šŸ‚ fall—it’s a season of comfort and routine. After the wildness of summer, it gives us the chance to settle. To find joy in little rituals like sipping a warm cup of coffee before the day begins, or watching the kids dive into piles of leaves like they haven’t seen them a hundred times before.

So, as we all stumble through early mornings, homework meltdowns, and the endless search for matching socks, let’s remind ourselves—we’re doing it. We’re showing up, finding balance, and creating memories in between the chaos.

Here’s to the start of a new weekly rhythm right here too. Every Tuesday, I’ll be sharing a little piece of life, motherhood, and all the messy, misfit moments in between.

From one Misfit Momma to another: you’ve got this. And if all else fails, there’s always coffee. ā˜•šŸ’ŖšŸ¼

🌟 Misfit Momma’s Tip of the Week

Lay out the kids’ outfits the night before—even if they don’t wear the exact thing you picked, at least you’ll save yourself five minutes of morning chaos. Bonus points if you set your coffee mug on the counter the night before too. ā˜•
