Thereās something about this time of year that feels like a deep breath after holding it in all summer long. Donāt get me wrongāsummer has its magic. Late nights, sticky popsicle fingers, family tripsš£, and letting routines slide a little too far (because hey, itās summer!). But once those first school bells ring, weāre suddenly thrown back into early alarmsā°, packing lunches, signing permission slips, and the never-ending battle of āDid you brush your teethšŖ„ yet?ā
As a mom, I always feel like this transition is one of the hardest but also the most rewarding. The house gets a little quieter during the day, but the evenings get a little louder as everyone spills out their stories over dinner. Weāre adjusting right alongside our kidsāfinding our rhythm again after a season of freedom.
And just as we start to get into the swing of things, the air shifts too. š¬ļøThe mornings feel cooler, the afternoons a little softer. Itās almost like nature is reminding us to slow down, to prepare for the cozy months ahead. Soon enough the leaves will crunch under our feet, and the smell of špumpkin spice, cinnamon, and šapple crisp will drift through kitchens everywhere.
I think thatās what I love most about š fallāitās a season of comfort and routine. After the wildness of summer, it gives us the chance to settle. To find joy in little rituals like sipping a warm cup of coffee before the day begins, or watching the kids dive into piles of leaves like they havenāt seen them a hundred times before.
So, as we all stumble through early mornings, homework meltdowns, and the endless search for matching socks, letās remind ourselvesāweāre doing it. Weāre showing up, finding balance, and creating memories in between the chaos.
Hereās to the start of a new weekly rhythm right here too. Every Tuesday, Iāll be sharing a little piece of life, motherhood, and all the messy, misfit moments in between.
From one Misfit Momma to another: youāve got this. And if all else fails, thereās always coffee. āšŖš¼

Lay out the kidsā outfits the night beforeāeven if they donāt wear the exact thing you picked, at least youāll save yourself five minutes of morning chaos. Bonus points if you set your coffee mug on the counter the night before too. ā
