Y’all. I thought I had heard it all. I really did. But this week? This week took the cake—or should I say, the bread.
Somebody messaged me and asked:
👉 “How is your bread healthier than store-bought bread?”
And I just… stared at my phone for a minute. Because what do you even say to that?!
So let’s break it down real simple:
1️⃣ It’s just bread. No secret kale. No magic ingredient. Sometimes not even yeast, depending on the type of bread. It’s literally flour, water, and whatever else the recipe calls for. That’s it.
2️⃣ Store bread has a whole science lab in it. Ever read the back of a loaf from the store? It’s got words I can’t even pronounce. My bread? It’s just bread. No weird preservatives, no fillers, no stuff that’ll make it last three months on a shelf.
3️⃣ It’s not gonna fix your life. I mean, it might make your sandwich taste better, and that’s a win. But if you’re hoping my bread is some kind of health miracle, I hate to break it to ya—it’s just really, really good bread.
So, to the person who asked… I guess my bread is “healthier” if you count real ingredients, fresh-baked goodness, and the fact that it wasn’t made in a factory. But at the end of the day? It’s just dang good bread.
And to all of you who support small bakers like me—whether you buy, share, or just hype up my little biz—y’all are the real MVPs. I couldn’t do this without you, and I appreciate you more than words (or bread) can say.
Until next time—stay messy, stay baked.
